Dealing with the death of a loved one can be among the worst times in a person's life. Not only are survivors dealing with the emotional loss of a loved one, but they are also dealing with things such as bills, insurance headaches, hospitals and medical providers and funeral expenses, just to name a few.
As a general practice insurance companies try to settle claims as soon as they can after an accident. But this doesn't necessarily mean the insurance company has the family's best interests at heart. More often than not the company's interest is moving things along quickly so that it can resolve the matter as inexpensively as possible.
